Whether we like or not, our babies, our children grow up. These were the very ones that could not do a thing without your help now want to be as independent as they possibly can. The teenage years may seem to be difficult as they are trying to find their own identity, be their own person, and at times want to do things that may seem strange to you but rational to them. If we did our jobs in raising them well and inspiring them with values and life lessons, then it shouldn't be a problem when they start wanting to be on their own. Here are some things we can help them in their quest:

- Give them the freedom but remind them of the responsibility it entails. Our teenage kids want to do things on their own and often are secretive of their actions. Give them the leeway they ask but remind them of the things they have to do in turn. If this means keeping up a certain grade standard then make sure that they maintain that. If this has to do with being diligent with their housework and their chores, then point this out to them.

- Bond with them in certain things. Help them get their driver's permit and let them get lessons but re-enforce it with your own time to teach them how to drive. Perhaps you can ask them to drive for you when doing errands. I am sure they will snatch every chance they can to use the car. And if they already have their driver's license, perhaps offer them one of the old cars you have as theirs provided they do certain things. Ask them to find the cheapest car insurance for a young driver and ask them to contribute to that insurance policy. Their demographic set pays the most for car insurance and by asking them to find the cheapest car insurance for a young driver; you teach them to be resourceful. What you can also do is to then talk to that insurance company and offer to upgrade the policy they have chosen.

- Talk to them as if they are adults already. Talk to them with respect and in turn, they will respect you as such. You don't necessarily have to be their friend. In fact, your job is not to be their friend but to be their parent. They should be able to talk to you if they have problems and you should be able to talk to them on how to deal with them. Trusting that you brought them up well, they in turn will try not to let you down. Mistakes will happen but depending on the gravity of the error, some tolerance can be accommodated. After all, they are your kids and you have seen them grow up from babies to young adults.

Finally! One place for all the information you need on the cheapest insurance for young drivers. It's hard enough to make ends meet without having to pay extra for a teen driver. At what age should I allow my child to take kids music lessons? What are the ways that I can develop their musical talents? I often receive questions of these kinds and have decided to answer all of them through this article.

The truth is that everyone, man, woman or child learns music in their own way. They may start with one musical instrument and end up with a totally different one. Every musician you come into contact with will have their own experience, and will have something to share with everyone.

There are however, ways we can cultivate musical talent in children and this should start from an early age. The first thing you want to do is familiarize a child with music, and you can start by singing that cradle song to them. It's amazing how calming music can be for babies. They love hearing your voice and sounds that are sweet like chimes and calming music. Sing to them regularly before going to bed, before nap time, or during any stressful situation.

To help your child fully develop his musical interest, you should make him learn an instrument. Buy educational toys that make music or sound. Kids love repetitive sound and they can listen to a song over and over again for hours, and will even start to ask you to play it again for them. Young children seem to be very attracted to classical music. They are drawn to the woodwinds and strings.

Sing songs with your child, even if you can't sing. Your child is not going to notice if you sing off key. Great songs to start with are songs like, Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

Wheels on the Bus. Any children's song or old folk song will do. This will create the interest in music for your child.

Ok so let's say your child is growing up with music toys and songs, but what age do you start a formal kids music education for him? This really depends on whether the interest is truly there or not. I would say that children that are introspective learn language easily, are more likely to enjoy music.

While children that are sports oriented are least likely to understand the intricacies of music. A good time to start kids music classes is usually when the child is about 5 or 6 and understands the basics of reading. When he or she can understand that a music symbol is slightly different this is a good time to start classes. But that is not to say, children cannot start musical education at a later age and not become good at it. Each child will have different capacities of learning.

Once in some type of musical education, you need to promote the child's interest. You do that by participating with the child in his learning process. Go to class with him. Give him the proper appreciation for learning a new chord or song. Go to the recitals. Overall, you need to be your child's best fan. This will keep him interested in the class, and in developing his musical skills.
